SAFEGUARDING:
Level 3- The
responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular
contact with children or young people and, in the overseas context all posts
are considered to be level 3 posts in view of potential situations which may
allow staff unsupervised access to vulnerable children and young people.

ROLE
PURPOSE:
As a Community
Liaison Assistant you will be reporting to the Field Operations
Officer responsible for all facets of Sponsorship Program
Operations in the communities, raise awareness around child sponsorship Program
among parents, communities and local leaders.
and below are some
of your duties:
- Act as
community, family and child liaison for all facets of sponsorship
operations in assigned communities. - Facilitate
the collection of accurate information about children and their families
as required for child enrolment in sponsorship program. - Plan
and conduct awareness around Child Sponsorship operations and Program
among parents, communities and local leaders. - Adhere
to Save the Children Sponsorship Policies and Procedures and Child
SAFETY
POLICY:
Work with the Field
Co-coordinator to ensure that these Policies are in place in communities
assigned to:
- Keep
track of all enrolled children in assigned communities, immediately
reporting any dropouts, transfers, major illnesses, deaths or other
ineligibles. - Facilitate
information sharing on enrolled children in assigned community to ensure
that children are participating in sponsorship program and are receiving
significant benefits. - Responsible
of Sponsorship Child Recruitment and Case History collection in assigned
community - Ensure
that family application form for each child is completed and that parental
consent is acquired - Facilitate
all mail correspondence between children and their respective sponsors,
ensuring authenticity, quality, appropriateness of messages and timeliness
in responses. - Collect
information necessary to respond to sponsor /Home office enquiries as
requested by the supervisor. - Facilitate
annual child verification exercises for every enrolled child (Annual
Family Update, Mid-Year Eligibility Check and Proactive Annual Letter
writing) - Collaborate
with desk officers and head teachers (partners) in Sponsorship schools in
carrying out all sponsorship operations. - In
collaboration with program staff, raise awareness in communities regarding
program participation and community partnership within the Sponsor
Program. - Collaborate
with program staff ,Sponsorship Manager and Field Co-coordinator to
facilitate program activities in the assigned impact area - Facilitate
the capacity building of desk officers, head teachers, volunteers and
program core groups in sponsorship operations. - Plan
and conduct monthly and quarterly reviews of sponsorship operations with
desk officers, head teachers and volunteers for the assigned communities. - Monitor
Sponsorship record maintenance for the enrolled children in
accordance with sponsorship policies
and procedures. - Represent
Save the Children with external partners in the field including government
officials. - Attend
workshops, seminars, meetings as required

the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected
to work outside the normal job description and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS:
At least a diploma
in Rural Development, Agriculture, education or any science field obtained from
any accredited institutions in Malawi. Holder of motorcycle driving license
will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE
AND SKILLS:
(Define the
experience and skills required for satisfactory job performance, these are in
two categories such as ‘essential’ and ‘desirable’)
- Knowledge
of working with communities especially school children - Knowledge
in data collection, processing and storing either manually or
electronically and able to retrieve data when needed. - Sould
have experience in handling a camera, helping a child to pose for a photo
and taking of quality photos. - Knowledge
in motorcycle riding with a clean driver’s license.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The job duties and

required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of
skills and experience.
