The
Rwanda Medical Council is the guardian of the ethical rules, of the honor and
dignity of the medical profession. By this right, it is in charge of keeping
moral principles, honesty and devotion, which are essential for the practice
of the medical art and the observance, by all registered medical
practitioners, of professional duties as well as the code and rules of
medical ethics.
To
implement a three year strategic plan of Continuing Professional Development
(CPD) programs for all physicians practicing in Rwanda, the Rwanda Medical
Council is seeking to hire competent candidates for the following positions:
1.
Education specialist
Job
purpose
To
coordinate educational activities offered by CPD providers for professionals
undertaking CPD program activities for relicensing purposes, to ensure that
goals and objectives specified for the program policy are accomplished.
Duties/Specific
responsibilities:
  • Organize
    workshops for CPD providers
  • Receive and
    conduct initial processing and verification of applications for both
    provider and individual CPD activities
  • Coach and
    facilitate CPD providers
  • Maintain
    effective communications with all accredited CPD providers
  • Coordinate,
    monitor and supervise the CPD activities as submitted by providers
  • Provides
    technical support to CPD providers in planning, organizing and coordinating
    educational materials and delivery
  • Assess CPD
    training materials, monitor delivery, and evaluate effectiveness and
    relevancy of CPD activities for specific target group of beneficiaries
  • Assists in the
    coordination of the development, selection of curriculum materials, for
    training
  • Assists in the
    planning, development, and implementation of program evaluation
  • Makes
    recommendations relative to the accreditation of CPD providers
  • Develop
    approaches which ensure optimal delivery of CPD educational activities
  • Develop adult
    and continuing education courses/programs curricula by evaluating needs
    of the medical and dental practitioners
  • Identify/coordinate/schedule
    CPD activity calendar and disseminate to beneficiaries
  • Performs other
    duties related to the position
Job
profile
  • Education
    specialist will preferably be a holder of a Masters Degree and
    experience relevant to the position requirements.
  • Qualification
    in Medical Education or a Masters Degree in Education Science from a
    reputable international institution is a strong advantage.
Knowledge/skills/abilities:
  • Knowledge of
    curriculum development
  • Excellent
    skills in adult learning methodologies
  • Must have
    skills in the following areas: oral/written communication, interpersonal
    relations, organization, and public relations
  • Computer
    skills highly desirable
  • Must be able
    to develop/maintain effective partnerships with CPD providers
  • Must be able
    to work independently and solve complex problems using own
    judgment/discretion
  • Must be able
    to develop/maintain effective partnerships with medical and health
    teaching institutions
2.
Secretary
General
Purpose
Provide
personal administrative support to management and the organization through
conducting and organizing administrative duties and activities including
receiving and handling information. S/he will report to the Executive
Secretary.
Main
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • prepare and
    manage correspondence, reports and documents
  • organize
    meetings, type and distribute minutes of meetings, conferences, travel,
  • implement and
    maintain office systems
  • maintain
    schedules and calendars, arrange and confirm appointments
  • set up and
    maintain filing systems, set up work procedures
  • collate
    information, maintain databases
  • communicate
    verbally and in writing to answer inquiries and provide information
  • liaison with
    internal and external contacts
  • coordinate the
    flow of information both internally and externally
Education
and Experience
  • Minimum of A1
    degree in secretarial studies and relevant three year working
    experience;
  • Knowledge and
    experience of relevant software applications – spreadsheets, word
    processing, presentation
  • Knowledge of
    administrative and clerical procedures and business principles
  • Proficient in
    spelling, punctuation, grammar in English and  French language
    skills
  • Proven
    experience of producing correspondence and documents
  • Proven
    experience in information and communication management
  • Required
    typing speed
