Strategic Projects Manager

 Job Summary

In this role, the
SPM handles new projects’ opportunities that contribute to the company’s
success. He/She should collaborate with various managers onsite/offsite to
execute strategic projects plans.

The Strategic
Projects Manager will provide high-level financial, analytical and project
level support to the Executive Management Committee. The SPM will create
financial models to help assess new business streams, provide analytics for
possible business opportunities, participate in revenue generation initiatives,
as well as provide insight and actionable recommendations for other business
process improvements such as creating high level KPIs and performance standards
for the business.

 Duties and
Responsibilities

  • Manages
    strategic cross-functional business initiatives end-to-end from planning
    through post-execution/benefit realization.
  • Provide
    financial models and return/cost benefit analysis, analytics and
    presentations on requested topics/projects.
  • Support
    business leaders in process re-engineering projects/transformation
    projects.
  • Support
    business leaders on revenue growth initiatives, by providing financial
    metrics/KPIs and actionable data to improve performance or identify new
    opportunities.
  • Conduct
    financial modeling and analysis on possible marketplace opportunities.
  • Provide
    market analytics and strategic project leadership to drive best practice
    initiatives across the organization.
  • Work
    closely with Projects Manager, Operations & Commercial Departments,
    Customers, and consultants, to develop and execute strategic project plans
  • Effectively
    communicate with team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear
    fashion.
  • Identify
    and resolve issues and conflicts related to the strategic projects’
    development.
  • Track
    strategic Project mile stones and deliverables.
  • Develop
    and deliver strategic project-specific content, progress reports, requirements
    documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively
    manage changes in projects’ scope, identify potential crises, and devise
    contingency plans.
  • Conduct
    strategic project post mortems and create recommendations report in order
    to identify successful and unsuccessful elements.

Required skills
and Education
 

  • Basic
    degree in Business Administration, Commercial, financial, marketing or
    business related field.
  • Masters degree is
    an advantage
  • 2
    minimum years in a managerial position
  • 3-5
    years of related experience in high-level, high-volume financial modeling
    and analytics (for example investment banking) and/or consulting, project
    management and/or business analytics with proven track record, systems and
    database development tools would be an advantage
  • Superior
    proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Having
    excellent written & spoken communication skills in English
  • Superior
    management skills, including time management, people management, and
    resource management.
  • Proven
    track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and
    development within a growing organization.
  • Excellent
    judgment and creative problem solving skills, including negotiation and
    conflict resolution skills.
  • Energetic,
    flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a person who can positively and
    productively impact both strategic and tactical initiatives and
    demonstrate resourcefulness in setting priorities and investment in people
    and systems.
  • Knowledge
    of electronic payment industry/banking is an advantage
  • The
    capacity to adequately handle work stress and meet deadlines
  • Strong
    technical finance, research & analytical skills   
  • Marketing
    backgrounds with exposure to a broad range of functions highly desirable,
    PM certification being a plus.
  • Deep
    curiosity and understanding of the web and current business trends
  • Self-reliant,
    good problem solver, results oriented, multi-tasker
  • Exceptional
    communication, written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and
    the ability to effectively interface with RSwitch Management team, staff,
    and business partners.

Commercial Manager

Duties and
Responsibilities

  • Define,
    implement and manage business policies & procedures
  • Establish
    product development, pricing & service models
  • Manage,
    develop and continuously improve the quality, timeliness, effectiveness
    and efficiency of commercial/marketing department
  • Actively
    seek new business opportunities
  • Maintain
    and manage the relationship of our clients
  • Plan by
    prioritizing customer, employee and organizational requirements
  • Oversee
    and Steer designing and planning of marketing strategy
  • Preparation,
    presentation and negotiations of commercial proposals & contracts
  • Assess,
    Establish and Monitor performance goals, allocate resources, and assess
    policies for the Division in line with RSwitch Strategy
  • Manage
    and handle daily business issues,
  • Introduce
    and maintain the customer focused concept within the organization and
    particularly the commercial/marketing department
  • Responsible
    of sales/marketing budget & achieving  company revenue
  • Liaise
    with  the finance department in relation to revenues/debt
    collections 
  • Ensure
    proper fulfilment of duties of RSwitch towards its customers and
    particularly compliance with the SLA’s in place

Education

  • Basic
    degree in commercial, financial, marketing or business related field.
  • Master’s
    degree is an advantage
  • 3
    minimum years in managerial position
  • At
    least 3-5 working of sales/marketing experience with proven track record
  • Having
    excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • Having
    excellent written & spoken communication skills in
    English/Kinyarwanda.
  • French
    is considered beneficial
