(Full time, 6 months maternity cover, January-June 2012)
Salary is in the range of £38,996- £46,150 per annum inclusive of London
Allowance.
This post offers an opportunity for an emerging scholar to gain teaching
experience in the English Department at Royal Holloway and to work with the
highly regarded Victorian Literature specialists there. The Department is
renowned for the quality of its research-led teaching and this post provides an
excellent opportunity for the post holder to extend and develop their teaching
skills across a range of BA and MA courses.
The post is made available for six months to cover maternity leave. The post
holder will be based in the English Department in the International Building
and will teach on second and third year courses which cover both Romantic and
Victorian Literature; they will also teach on the Victorian Literature and
Culture MA. Expertise in the visual culture of the period would be desirable.
The post holder will also play a vital role in assisting senior staff to
support students of Victorian Literature through pastoral care.
We encourage applications from post-doctoral candidates but will also consider applicants
who are near to completion and submission of their thesis. Previous teaching
experience at HE level is an essential requirement.
