A glimpse at the role:
As a nimble, plucky and roll-up-your-sleeves Kitchen Manager, you
bring your amazing ability to lead and develop teams as well as your
kitchen management experience to help drive results. This position is
responsible for making sure that all of the processes in our
production areas run safely and smoothly, while keeping a close eye on
food quality, and also balancing the important duties of scheduling,
productivity & yield management, effective equipment operation and
utilization, training, and continuous improvement.
Some of the things you’ll get paid to do:
Manage Afternoon Production
• Share responsibility for creating and maintaining a workplace
culture that engages and motivates RFRKers at all levels
• Develop and implement action plans to address the root causes of
failures and support continuous improvement initiatives to meet
current and future business requirements
• Manage relationships with internal/external customers, suppliers,
colleagues and support services to ensure achievement of targets
Manage Departmental Resources
• Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel for
afternoon shifts; establishing priorities; monitoring progress;
revising schedules; removing roadblocks
• Lead by example and live RFRK’s core values
Execute External Safety Regulations
• Maintain compliance with the OHSA, JHSC recommendations or MOL work
orders, RFRK’s safety policy, GMP’s and HACCP
Quality and Inventory Control
• Ensure quality objectives are met including regular adherence to
GMP’s, performance of sanitation audits, food safety checks, and
product quality checks conducted according to policies
• Ensure inventory is tracked and documented according to health and
safety regulations

Required Education and Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory work experience in a
restaurant kitchen or food production facility
• College diploma or University degree; or an equivalent combination
of related experience and education
• Knowledge of HACCP and Provincial Safety Regulations
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs & Drive
Skills and Personal Attributes:
• Ability to communicate effectively and across multiple departments
• Ability to lead, motivate, coach, mentor and resolve employee conflicts
• Structured and self-directed approach to project work
• Ability to consistently meet targets and deadlines
• Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and make effective decisions
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ERP system experience an asset
• Strong command of English language (written and verbal)
• Crazy good sense of humour and your work proves it
Nice-to-haves:
• Intermediate understanding of Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing
principles and leadership applications within a production environment
• Flexibility to cover alternate shifts as needed
