Programmer/Analyst (Corporate Applications)
POSTMEDIA NETWORK INC.
Postmedia Business Technology (BT), in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada is looking
for a dedicated, customer service oriented, BT professional to join our
applications team in support of the Company’s operations.
PROGRAMMER/ANALYST
Reporting to an Application Services Supervisor, the successful candidate
will become a vital part of the Postmedia Business Technology distributed
support team.
•Provide support, integration and development for defined systems in use at
Postmedia;
•Assist in defining customer requirements;
•Assist in the development of technical deliverables;
•Deliver quality coding and trouble shooting of application service requests;
•Analyze and implement application enhancements;
•Work collaboratively with other Postmedia support areas; and
•Carrying a cell phone and being on-call on a rotational basis are required.
Qualifications include:
•A related degree/diploma and at least 2-years of relevant IT experience or
an equivalent combination of education and experience;
•Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail;
•Demonstrated problem solving, prioritization and organizational skills;
•Strong communication skills in person, written, over the telephone and through
email;
•A team player with excellent customer service skills and the ability to work
with a variety of customers at all levels;
•Ability to process and prioritize a high volume of work accurately and
efficiently within challenging timelines and with limited supervision;
•Experience with SQL programming is required;
•Experience with any of the following would be beneficial: .Net
Framework; C# and VB.Net; Crystal reports and HTML/JavaScript; Microsoft
SharePoint administration and development;
•Experience developing BI dashboards and reports would be an asset, using tools
such as OBIEE or Cognos;
•The candidate must also be able to accommodate a flexible schedule when
required.
