The Pembina Institute is seeking a highly motivated individual to join
its Alberta and the Northwest Territories Regional Team as an Advisor
for its consulting practice at its head office in Calgary. We are
seeking a highly driven and resourceful person with three to five
years of relevant tec
hnical experience, strong analytical skills,
relevant energy/environment industry experience, a solid work ethic
and a persistent drive to succeed to solve Canada’s most prominent
sustainability challenges. Areas of responsibility will include
corporate, government and community-based sustainability consulting
projects in Alberta and the Northwest Territories relating to oil &
gas, oilsands, clean energy and energy efficiency. The candidate
should be able to thrive with limited supervision. This full-time (40
hours a week) position may require travel and requires occasional work
on evenings and weekends.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary rate is competitive for an Advisor in the non-profit sector
and will be based on skills, experience and qualifications of the
successful candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities
Data Analysis
• Conduct thorough technical, quantitative analysis on projects
including GHG modeling, LCA modeling, GHG inventory composition and
validation, and technology evaluations
• Critically review the quantitative analysis of peers
• Conduct high-quality literature research for a range of projects —
from researching factors to include in models to writing research
reports
• Create high-quality project deliverables — reports, power point
presentations, excel models
Project Management
• Support the business development process through building proposals
and creating project plans
• Collaborate with the various internal teams at Pembina
• Manage projects from initiation to completion
• Co-facilitate internal and client meetings/workshops
Skills and Qualifications
Candidates must clearly reflect the following skills and experience in
their application:
• Solid technical competence
• Relevant experience in economic or technical analysis of energy &
environmental matters
• Experience in Life Cycle Analysis and/or Greenhouse Gas quantification
• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel
• Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, or energy/environment
• Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and social change:
• This can be through your educational, professional, and volunteer experiences
• Substantial relevant industry experience or understanding in energy
and environment (other relevant areas may include associated
government departments; environmental/CSR consulting; academia;
international development, government and/or advocacy)
• Project management experience
• Facilitation and public speaking experience
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and strong interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated and results-oriented, with strong drive and
initiative to succeed
