In
a few words:
Reporting
to the General Manager, Ad Sales, the Sales Manager oversees the day to day
functions of one of the two sales teams in Oakville.  Providing exceptional
leadership and having the ability to motivate and drive the team to their full
potential to exceed targets is required.  The role is also accountable for
staying ahead of emerging trends and positively positioning our products to win
in the market.
The
Job: A day in the life of a Sales Manager:
  • Oversee
    the day to day functions of the sales team (TV and Digital).
  • Manage
    Digital and Television advertising sales activity, agreements and
    inventory for Oakville with the goal of exceeding departmental sales
    targets
  • Mentor,
    lead and inspire the sales team so they are working to their full
    potential
  • Hire,
    retain and motivate top sales talent by providing leadership, coaching and
    performance management
  • Establish
    annual sales budgets, compensation packages and manage account lists and
    territories
  • Monitor
    market activity, trends in advertising and competition
  • Identify,
    develop and execute opportunities to optimize our advertising revenues
  • Work
    with the General Manager, Ad Sales to develop and implement sales
    strategies
  • Assist
    in the development of category-specific sales development projects
  • Assist
    in the development of integrated media packages
  • Establish
    and meet operational expense budgets
  • Hold
    weekly Sales meetings and maintain positive group communications
  • Work
    closely with existing Sales Manager in Oakville and  Director, Sales
    in Montreal to ensure on-going communication and consistent practices
    between offices
  • Build
    relationships and communication channels with internal and external
    clients to  maximize  integrated sales opportunities
  • Collaborate
    with Ad Operations to efficiently execute ad campaigns, and develop new
    products and solutions to stay ahead of the market
  • Work
    with Marketing to plan B2B efforts, sales tools, collateral, promotions
    and client activities
  • Manage
    tracking systems and procedures in order to continually follow all aspects
    of sales performance
  • Ensure
    sales team manages sales pipeline to achieve/ over achieve targets.
  • Accountable
    to foster and uphold Pelmorex values to create a positive and respectful
    work environment, and to ensure the fair and consistent execution of HR
    policies to all employees including Pelmorex’s commitment to diversity and
    equity in the workplace
  • Other
    duties as directed by the General Manager, Ad Sales
You:
  • In-depth
    experience in media sales, including a senior-level understanding of
    agency, direct and local media sales market dynamics
  • Knowledge
    and experience with media sales (Digital and Broadcast)
  • University
    Degree/College Diploma in Business Management, Sales and/or Marketing
  • Minimum
    of 3 years of experience managing people in a media sales environment
