up the position of Country Accountant, who would be ready to start work

Job
Purpose
Oxfam
Rwanda Country Accountant will ensure that quality accounting procedures are in
place to effectively deliver on programme priorities; and to maintain
consistent accounting support across the programme, supporting as well as
managing/controlling financial risks. The position holder will oversee handling
financial aspects of Oxfam Rwanda Programme, ensuring the implementation and
monitoring of the financial aspects of both the specifically assigned projects
and general program accounting aspects and contribute actively to the
management of Rwanda Programme resources and the provision of support to budget
holders in financial management. Oxfam Rwanda Country Accountant is also
Custodian of accounting procedures and information generating quality reports
(monthly, quarterly) for decision-making.
    
Key Technical Skills, knowledge and Experience required
  • Minimum
    Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and professional Finance/ accounting
    qualifications such as ACCA
  • Minimum
    of 5 years working experience 3 of which must be in Finance.
  • Proven,
    extensive knowledge in financial statement preparation and reporting.
  • High
    level of numeracy, accuracy and analytical skills, initiative and
    attention to detail
  • Knowledge
    of Oxfam’s philosophy, aims and policies (especially gender relations)
  • Ability
    to work on own initiative & under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Personal
    commitment to working as reliable, honest, & trustworthy member of a
    team
  • Ability
    and Willingness to travel in the field.
