The prevalence of parasitic contamination on all the popular vegetables
examined from the local markets in Ughelli-Metropolis, Delta State is presented
in tables out of 25 samples of the five types of popular vegetables selected, 2
were positive for different parasitic contamination showing the prevalence 12
(48%). The prevalence of parasitic contamination on vegetables were found to
vary significantly from market to markets, the highest number of positive cases
were found in Ughelli main Market (3(60%)) and Ofuoma Market (3(60%). While the
lowest number was detected in Agbarha Market (2(40%)), Agbarha Market (2(40%))
and Orogun Market (2(40%)), Tables 1.

Among all the parasitic, the highest prevalence was found in Taenia
species (4(16%)) followed by Strongyloides larvae (3(12%)), Table 5.
