The OECD Washington
Center in
terns support the Organization’s public outreach efforts to
government, civil society and media in the United States and Canada. Students
will have the opportunity to gain experience in two important areas of work:
- Public
Affairs: Supporting
the Center’s public outreach efforts to both government and civil society.
Typical duties include researching political trends and public
institutions, note-taking at public presentations and Congressional
hearings, assisting with the organization of events and briefings, and
responding to external research queries.
- Communications
& Media: Assisting
in the planning and execution of media campaigns and events. Typical
duties include responding to media queries, monitoring news to identify
articles of interest to the OECD, updating social media accounts, drafting
media materials, and coordinating interviews.
Desired
Profile
- Knowledgeable
about international affairs and economic policy, and interested in the
workings of a leading intergovernmental organization. - Excellent
written and communication skills. - Fluent
English speaker, French language skills are a plus. - Detail-oriented
multi-tasker. - Ability
to use various online tools to track down and research information. - Experienced
with Microsoft Office.
Eligibility
Applicants
must be:
- Citizens
of an OECD member country. - Currently
enrolled in a university/college program leading to a degree. - Available
full-time. Exceptionally, part-time candidates who are available at least
20 hours per week can be considered.
Terms
Internships are
located at the OECD Washington Center in downtown Washington (Metro: Farragut
West). Although internships are unpaid, interns will receive a
contribution towards living expenses and enjoy free access to the building
fitness center. The OECD Washington Center observes U.S. Federal Holidays.
