Description
•To
design, plan and implement an efficient system of monitoring the production of vital; statistics, incorporating learning from other countries in the region; •To train staff responsible of vital statistics registers in order to ensure the reliability of data; •To establish and maintain a system of processing vital statistics data; •To design, plan and implement a system of measuring migratory changes; •To participate in the design and implementation of social and demographic surveys and supplement the existing data accordingly; •To participate in the development and updating of the social statistics data base with reference to vital statistics and migration data; •To participate in the development of the Annual Work Program, the Budget and the Report of activities of the Unit; •To provide regular monitoring and progress reports to the Director of the Department. |

Profile

in Statistics, Economics, Demography, Applied Mathematics, Development Studies or Social Sciences specialization in Population Studies with knowledge of statistical softwares (SPSS, STATA , SAS, etc) Key Technical Skills & Knowledge required: – Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing – Excellent interpersonal skills – Report writing and presentation skills – Computer skills – Creativity and initiative – Good organizational and time management skills – Team working skills -Technical understanding of system being analyzed and how it affects the various business units. -Good at handling and meeting deadlines. -Multi-tasking skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities and keep up with project scope changes. -Able to work well with both internal and external clients. -Self-starter with leadership skills in order to take charge of or facilitate requirementgathering sessions. -Quick learner who is easily able to learn new products, systems, applications and technologies
