Established in 1988,
the MRC/UVRI Uganda Research Unit on AIDS is an internationally recognized
center of excellence for research on HIV infection and related diseases,
contributing knowledge on the revolving epidemic, the evaluation of innovative
health care options, treatment and prevention, and the development of health
policy and practice in Africa and worldwide. The Unit’s head offices are
located at the Uganda Virus Research Institute- Entebbe Campus, and the main
research activities in Masaka, Kalungu, Kampala and Wakiso districts, including
the peri-urban areas of Entebbe. The Unit is now seeking an enthusiastic
individual to fill the
following position.Position: Buildings Maintenance
Supervisor
Reports to: Senior
Maintenance Engineer
Duty station:
Kampala (with frequent travel to the Head office and
other field
stations)
Start Date: As soon
as possible
Contract Duration:
Two years (Renewable)
Overall Job Purpose:
To be responsible for the maintenance of the entire Unit’s buildings and the
cleaning and security of the station. To ensure that the Unit’s buildings are
maintained in an excellent condition by conducting regular general building
maintenance inspections including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting at
the duty station and across the field stations, and making sure that works
which need attention are identified and attended to in a timely manner for the
smooth running on the Unit Operations.
