Monash Children’s Centre is a not
for profit community based centre located on the border of Monash University
Clayton campus.  We are an integrated Long Day Care and Kindergarten

ough play.  We have been awarded with an
Exceeding National Standards rating in all areas of our National Quality
Standards review.  Our landscaped gardens, large rooms and outdoor decking
areas allow teachers to plan creatively and offer indoor/outdoor
programs.  The centre is well equipped with resources for children and
teachers, with a high emphasis on natural and recycled materials.

We are seeking a dynamic early
childhood educator with a Bachelor of Early Childhood (or equivalent) as an
Educational Leader.  The successful candidate will have a commitment to
high quality practice and be able to plan, implement and maintain a program
which reflects the strengths and interests of the children.  An ability to
demonstrate a high level of understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework
(EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) is essential. 
The ongoing position is for 38 hours
per week, with educational leader responsibilities offered as a 2 year term for
2016-2017, with the potential to be extended.  The successful applicant
will be renumerated with above award pay rates, additional weekly planning
time, extensive professional development and all other entitlements offered by
Monash Children’s Centre.  Conditions of employment are based on the
Educational Services (Teachers) Award 2010. 
The successful candidate will work
in partnership with Monash Children’s Centre’s current leadership team which
consists of 2 Educational Leaders and the coordinators.  The candidate
will be positioned in an older toddler room (2.5 – 3.5 year olds) and be
responsible for the overview of quality and leadership throughout the toddler
area. 
The focus areas will be in:
  • Participating in professional conversations within the
    leadership team and with co-workers
  • Reviewing current curriculum development and
    documentation practices
  • Reflecting on current practices and comparing to
    current research and best practice guidelines
  • Engaging in an inquiry based project with colleagues,
    families and children

ESSENTIAL KEYSELECTION CRITERIA
  1. An approved Early Childhood Teacher Degree (or
    equivalent), Certified Supervisor certificate (or willingness to apply),
    Working with Children Check (or VIT registration), anaphylaxis, first aid
    and CPR training
  2. Demonstrated experience working in Early Childhood
    services taking full responsibility for the planning, implementation and
    assessment of the program
  3. Demonstrated experience with leading, motivating and
    mentoring a team of Early Childhood professionals
  4. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
    together with sound planning and execution skills
