Seeking a Canadian University graduate for a one-year experience
interning with Campi ya Kanzi (http://www.maasai.com) (one of Africa’s
finest safari eco lodges) and the Maasai
Wilderness Conservation Trust
(http://maasaiwilderness.org) (a community based
conservation
foundation) in Southern Kenya.
The work between Campi ya Kanzi and the Maasai Wilderness Conservation
Trust is symbiotically connected. The candidate will be an assistant
to Luca Belipietro, whom is the Director of both.
Responsibilities:
• Co-manage marketing, publicity, communicate and online/social media
effots for both the camp and the Trust
• Collected information from program coordinators (conservation,
education, health) and disseminate in the Trust social media
• Collect camera trap photos from the Campi ya Kanzi camera trap for
camp and Trust uses
• Manage and coordinate a women’s empowerment project – collection of
traditional Maasai for disbursement to Campi ya Kanzi guests
• Control certain operational tasks at camp
• Liase with guests under cetain cicumstances
• All other tasks (most tasks) will vary on daily basis – essentially
responsible to make the Director’s life easier
Details:
• One year committment: 10 months work/2 months holiday
• Starting: mid-August 2015
• Candidate must have great computer skills and deep understanding of
social media
• Full accommodation and board provided: tent with running water and
solar electricivity
• Located in a remote safari camp in the Chyulu Hills of Kenya
• No salary
