Light House is looking for a dynamic, confident project manager with a
minimum of 5 years experience in the building and construction
industry; energy management; and/ or sustainability consulting to
manage the delivery of our green building and energy services and
research.

This is a full-time position. Salary will be commensurate with
education, experience, and responsibilities. You report to the
Executive Director and will be responsible for:
• Managing Light House’s Green Building Services Team (a team of
building scientists, analysts, and ot

her related technical staff) to
deliver LEED® and other green building rating and certification
systems documentation projects (budget and schedule);
• Managing green building-related projects, such as building
benchmarking research or development of green building policies and
standards;
• Managing the Green Building Services team, including resource
allocation and schedule and budget control;
• Providing green building and energy performance solutions through
research and technical analysis of policies, technologies, products,
strategies and solutions;
• Developing and delivering related education, training, and coaching programs.

This position also has a substantial business development component,
and the Director is responsible for identifying and developing
opportunities for fee-for-service or grant-funded projects and
research as part of implementing our strategic plan, including
preparing professional proposals, with an eye to expanding Light
House’s services and profile.

We are looking for someone who is a flexible, team-oriented
multi-tasker with an appetite for a fast-paced, project-oriented
environment. You are familiar with green building rating systems such
as LEED, BOMA BESt, etc. You will have strong technical skills, an
aptitude for quantitative analysis and enthusiasm for project
development, client services, education and professional mentoring.
Working for the Light House Sustainable Building Centre requires that

Qualifications

Education
• Must have: Bachelor degree or technical diploma in building science,
building design, construction, engineering, or architecture.
Professional engineering designation strongly regarded.
• LEED® accreditation required, or must be obtained within three months
• Other training in Energy Management, Green Building, Construction
Management, Project Management, Real Estate Development favourably
regarded.

Experience
• At least 5 years practical, relevant work experience, with a minimum
of two years in a project management role – project planning, budget
control, staff utilization, scheduling, scope control, client
management
• Experience delivering energy audits, performing building
benchmarking, developing energy management plans, preparing GHG
inventories or related experience
• Working knowledge of green building design, building / development
policies and regulations, and an ability to interpret blueprints and
specifications.
• Practical experience working with LEED® e.g., completion of a project

• Strong organizational abilities and good time management and project
planning abilities. Organized but not detail-obsessed
• Confident and able to take responsibility for decisions and work
with performance targets
• Ability to multi-task, wear many ‘hats’, and use sound judgment to
prioritize activities
• Excellent verbal (including telephone), presentation and
interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent command of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft
Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Entrepreneurial attitude and initiative
• Ability to solve problems creatively and practically
• Ability to work independently or in a team setting, especially a
team including technical disciplines
• Flexibility and the ability to work in an unstructured environment
