Position: Social Media Coordinator
Organization: Leadnow.ca
Location: Canada, Preferably Vancouver or Toronto

Summary: Leadnow.ca is looking for an experienced social media coordinator to
join our team for the duration and aftermath of the 2015 federal election. Is
this position for you? Do you know someone who would be a good fit?

Location: Preference for working out of our Toronto or Vancouver office but
flexible for the right candidate who is happy to work remotely.

Desired start date: August 17th, 2015.

Position overview: The election writ has been dropped and it’s game on for the
next federal election. Here’s the thing – while a clear majority want change in
this election, the Harper Conservatives could win again if the vote splits in
key ridings across the country.

That’s where you come in. The Leadnow community includes over 450,000 people
from across Canada, with a strong presence on Facebook and Twitter. We’re
looking for an experienced social media coordinator to be part of the biggest
people-powered, pro-democracy election campaign in Canadian history.

A bit of background: the Leadnow community has come together to focus on three
big priorities for Canada: a strong democracy, a fair economy, and a clean
environment for all generations. The Harper Conservatives are moving us in the
wrong direction on all fronts and – let’s be blunt – they need to be defeated.

That’s why we’ve spent the last two years helping thousands of people
collaborate on a game-changing people-powered election campaign. As social
media coordinator, you’ll get to help thousands of people hold this government
accountable, connect with each other to select and support the best local
candidates to defeat the local Conservative, and build the movement necessary
to ensure the next government makes lasting changes.

The social media coordinator will add capacity and support to the active Online
Campaigns Team. For the right person, this is an opportunity to make a
difference in a crucial election, to help thousands of people work together to
build a better country, and contribute to innovative campaigns on the major
challenges of our time.

So if you’ve got a talent for engaging people online, some hot writing skills,
and a passion for helping people to take action for a better future – and if
you like the idea of working with a data-driven team that wants to tell stories
about the amazing local leaders who drive our effective campaigns – then this
position could be amazing for you.

We welcome and value the contributions that individuals who identify as members
of marginalized communities bring to our organization, and encourage Indigenous
Peoples, people of colour, women, people identifying as LGBTQI, members of
ethnic minorities, immigrants and people with disabilities to apply. We
