$11.25 per hour

Lake
Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA), in partnership with the Town of
Aurora, offers a unique environment-themed day camp that involves a variety of
outdoor experiences at Sheppard’s Bush Conservation Area.
This
position will work with LSRCA’s Outdoor & Environmental Educators from
Scanlon Creek to lead and deliver program activities. This position reports
directly to the Manager, Education.
What
you will do:
  • Supervise
    campers ages 6-12 in a variety of outdoor and camp activities
  • Support,
    co-lead or lead program activities including hiking, orienteering,
    wilderness shelter building and cookout, exploration of field, forest and
    pond, nature arts & crafts, and eco-games
  • Perform
    set-up, clean-up and maintenance of program equipment / facilities
  • Responsible
    for the health and safety of campers
  • Other
    camp-related duties as assigned
Hours
of Work:          40 hour week,
8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

  • Previous
    camp experience or experience working with children, an asset
  • First
    –Aid / CPR training is considered an asset
  • The
    offer of employment is conditional on receipt of a positive “Vulnerable
    Sector Screening” (includes a Criminal Record Check) , as this position
    works directly with children
