Vice Chancellor – Kibogora Polytechnic
In
five years of operation Kibogora Polytechnic has established an unparalleled
reputation as a Higher Level Institution in the Western Province of Rwanda. The
mission of the institution, which is owned by the Free Methodist Church of
Rwanda, is to provide the skills for the development of the region and beyond.
The vision of the founders is for a university with a Christian ethos which
provides an outstanding student experience, strong graduate employability and
exemplary quality and standards. Our e-learning is regarded as one of the best


installations in Rwanda.

The
Council now seek to appoint a Deputy Vice Chancellor to replace Dr Dariya
Mukamusoni who is taking the position of Vice Chancellor from 1st
January 2018. Candidates must have a proven track record in academic leadership
to continue the development of the institution into new programs, locations and
a culture of research excellence. Good English language skills are essential.

Roles
and Responsibilities
The
role of Deputy Vice Chancellor shall be the following:
  1. to
    coordinate all activities related to academic programmes and disciplines
    of the higher learning institution;
  2. to
    coordinate all research activities and programmes, in case there is no
    Vice-Rector specifically responsible for research;
  3. to
    organize meetings of the Senate and to ensure the implementation of its
    decisions;
  4. to
    replace the Vice Chancellor in case of absence or impediment;
  5. to
    carry out any other activity in relation to his or her duties as may be
    assigned to him or her by the Vice Chancellor
Specific
responsibilities
  • To
    recommend for Council approval, and subsequently implement, an academic
    strategy for the growth of the institution which will deliver the vision
    of the Founders and ensure the financial viability and academic excellence
    of the institution
  • To
    develop and maintain the Christian ethos of the institution with exemplary
    quality and standards
  • To
    ensure that all the reporting and standards requirements of the HEC are
    met. In particular to develop and maintain the quality assurance processes
    which will evidence the standards of academic attainment, with a view to
    continuing development of new programs and locations.
