We are currently
seeking a professional, self-motivated, team player to join us in the role of
Stewardship Outreach Technician. This position will lead the organization and
delivery of urban based stewardship programs designed to enhance public
awareness and stimulate actions to improve water quality and ecosystem
integrity within our watershed. This position will lead the development,
promotion and delivery of outreach events such as urban Greening Your Grounds
Workshops, Storm Drain Marking Events, and Agricultural Best Management
Practice Workshops. A critical function of this role will be providing
assistance in developing communications plans for stewardship projects and
programs, and leading internal reviews of stewardship program content. The
successful candidate will possess demonstrated experience with the production
of information products and social marketing techniques, and will have working
knowledge of urban water quality issues and low impact design.
To be successful in
this position, your additional qualifications will include:
Graduate
of a postsecondary program in ecosystem or natural resource management,
environmental science / biology or horticulture
Experience
using graphic design software, preferably Adobe Creative Suite for the
development of visual communications materials
Project
coordination and program administration
Experience
or working knowledge of gardening, landscaping and shoreline naturalization
techniques
Familiarity
with native vegetation, site requirements, and species identification
Valid
M.T.O. driver’s license, with clean driving record
First
aid certification or a willingness to acquire
ORCKA
certification an asset
