An opportunity now exists within Johns Lyng Group for an Insurance Building
Supervisor to join our Brisbane team based in Meadowbrook. The successful
applicant will be required to engage, coordinate and manage trades during the
restoration process for buildings damaged by insurable events within
Metropolitan Queensland. This role will involve managing large loss domestic
and commercial claims.

We are seeking an individual with a genuinely positive attitude, unwavering
integrity and a sound work ethic. A trade background and experience within the
building industry in a similar role is essential, while prior experience within
the Insurance Industry will be highly regarded. You will have a confident and
professional phone manner and excellent communication, organisational and
dispute resolution skills, as well as a sense of urgency, an honest nature and
the ability to learn from mistakes and work well under pressure.

Key Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Engage,
  coordinate and manage trades during the restoration process for buildings
  damaged by insurable events within Metropolitan Queensland
• Manage
  domestic and commercial claims
• Communicating
  and negotiating with trades to track the progress of jobs
• Liaising
  between both insured’s and insurers
• Coordinating
  access to properties with insured parties
• Dispute/issue
  resolution as required
• Ensure
  all work conforms to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements
• Ensure
  all inspections, certificates of final inspection from Building Surveyor
  and all relevant documentation is signed off

• Previous
  experience within a similar supervisory role
• Insurance
  building background highly regarded
• Relevant
  trade qualification
• Both
  residential and commercial building experience
• Be
  familiar with OHS practices, legislation and regulations and familiar with
  current market and rates/trades
• Have
  excellent communication/interpersonal skills and be well presented
• Have
  a good work ethic and be highly motivated
• Be
  computer savvy
• Have
  sound references
• Ability
  to manage multiple and competing priorities
• Strong
  customer service skills
• Ability
  to be empathetic to the needs of the client
