Our schools profitably deliver high-quality education for less than $4 per child per month, enabling local school managers to operate their school businesses profitably, while creating a highly successful business at the central level. We now have 25 schools in Kenya, and plan to rapidly scale the company to serve more than 1 million students.
Position: Research Data Manager
Location: Company Headquarters office, Nairobi
Reporting to: Research Project Manager
Essential Requirements:
• Education: Must possess a Bachelors Degree in computer Science, applied mathematics or statistics and information technology from a recognized university. Minimum of 3 years experience in data management is required.
• Demonstrated experience in data manipulation using SAS
Desirable Qualities
• Familiarity with STATA/SPSS statistical packages
• Experience in handling relational databases
• Demonstrated ability in cleaning data and performing data quality assurance procedures
• Ability to identify and resolve potential or current data problems
• Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and writing with staff in all cadres.
• Demonstrated good organizational skills
• Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate and work as a team
• Good judgment in problem solving, awareness of own limitations and internal motivation essential.
• Be able to prioritize work and meet set deadlines
Duties and Responsibilities
• Write SAS codes for analysis of existing data and data being collected routinely from the field
• Undertake a wide range of data processing including ensuring all data are entered routinely within set timelines and any data queries are followed up promptly.
• Provide feedback to the research manager regarding the quality assurance of data, detected deficiencies and corrective action in the databases.
• Deal with routine problems arising in the course of data handling
• Perform data cleaning and ensuring that all data entered is of high quality.
• Support in data analysis
• Review of the SAS codes from time to time to ensure they meeting the current company data needs
• Perform other duties assigned to him/her by the research project manager.
