has been collaborating with govt of Malawi Ministry of Health (MOH) and various
partners in implementing a wide range of activities in maternal health, family
health planning and r
eproductive health, newborn and child health, HIV/AIDS and
tuberculosis, Current key projects include the Support for Service Delivery
Integration Services (SSDI-Services), Maternal and Child Health integrated
Program (MCHIP) and Voluntary medical Male Circumcision (VMMC)

Submit monthly and
quarterly reports to HIV Director and Zonal Manager as per stipulated timeline,
In collaboration with clinical mentors, create an HIV clinician network within
the district, with planning to provide continuing education, case discussion,
in-service trainings, and ‘care of the carer’ support meetings, In
collaboration with the HIV Director, DHMT and Technical Officer conduct site
assessments of all facilities in the district, Organise mentoring visit based
on the identified needs of the mentees in each health facility, In
collaboration with the HIV Director and DHMT, develop an appropriate Memorandum
of Understanding for mentorship program, Monthly clinic visit schedule to be
discussed, reviewed and coordinated as pertaining to facility needs with HIV
Director on a monthly basis, Organises and conducts monthly clinical
review/case discussion meetings with ministry of Health clinicians, nurses and
other relevant health care workers within district, Works closely with the HIV
Director and HIV/TB central team on programmatic linkage on setting program
priorities and responding to requests for technical support from local
counterparts, Facilitates clinical trainings, workshops and provide onsite
technical support during visits as needed as part of a broad strategy of
program strengthening supportive supervisions follow up visits, establishes
systems for tracking progress, indicators and deliverables according to agreed
workplans and prepare program reports to ensure that state, donor and
headquarter reporting needs are met, Works with the HIV Director, HIV senior
Technical Advisor and Clinical Advisor and the program team to plan workplan
budgets, develop activity budgets, review expenditure and ensure efficient use
of available resources, Assist the MOH HIV and TB Coordinators by working with
the district health officials to implement, monitor and report on all project
activities, Coordinates sub-speciality care needs of HIV patients by
facilitating referral processes from health centres to district hospital to
regional hospital, Represents program at district level stakeholder meetings
and technical working groups in relation to HIBV and TB technical areas, Serve
as HIV/TB liaison an resource for ministry of Health at district level,
Provides inputs to Zonal Manager on quality improvement and participates in
implementing clinic wide performance improvement measures in relation to HIV
treatment and Care and HIV/TB integration, Provides instruction to patient and
family members regarding HIV/TB issues in collaboration with mentee clinician,
Advise eon prescribing medication according to standard HIV/Treatment
guidelines and in consultation with supervising doctors or
nurses, Advise on ordering and of laboratory specimens and
interpretation of results as well as radiographic imaging tests, Conduct
comprehensive health assessments of patients in collaboration with the
clinician providing clinical services, Coordinate, support and provide
technical leadership to partners and stakeholders in the implementation of HIV
and TB activities in the district of focus, Provide technical leadership to the
zonal and district levels teams for the improved coverage and quality of HIV
and TB prevention initiatives, Contribute to the multi sectoral collaboration
with other relevant stakeholders and partners in the district to lead a
coherent and coordinated HIV and TB response in the district, Assisting in
conceptualising and providing leadership and strategic direction for HIV and TB
program in the district
Responsible for
mentoring clinicians and nurses on comprehensive HIV care including HIV
testing, counselling, care, treatment, and support, sexually transmitted
infection diagnosis and treatment, TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment and
support and sexual and reproductive health, Practicing in accordance with
Malawian Health Professionals Council, S/he will evaluate chronic and acute
illness, advice on ordering diagnostic, procedures and tests, advice on
treatment and referrals and demonstrate proficient skills in patient education
