JHPIEGO Driver Job Vacancy in Kigali, Rwanda

JHPIEGO, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, builds global and local partnerships to enhance the quality of healthcare services for families around the world. We need to fill the Position of a driver as per the below details:

Scope of work:

Driver provides reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work, demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, and ability to work with people of different nationalities and cultural background. The position reports to the Logistician.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Drives office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and picking official personnel and visitors at the airport.
• Ensures cost-saving through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports,
• Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through ensuring timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, checking of tires pressure, brakes, car washing, etc.
• Ensures availability of all the required documents including vehicle insurance, necessary spare parts, street packing stickers etc.
• Responsible for project staff transportation with respect of all security criteria
• Coordinates daily schedules with logistician
• Registers mileage for trips and reports on a routing sheet to be submitted to the Logistician
• Submit original receipts for gas payments
• Ensures the proper functioning of the vehicle when traveling in the field
• Ensures that the vehicle is used solely for service and parks it in the Jhpiego designated parking spot during weekends, holidays and after work hours

Qualifications
• Excellent knowledge of driving rules, and regulations.
• Ability to produce incident reports and Work well with Staff.
• Able to work under pressure and/or long hours
• Education: Minimum of Senior three Secondary Education, Valid Driver’s license (Category: B, C) and possession of defensive Driving certificate is an advantage. 5 years’ experience, safe driving record.
• Language Requirements. Knowledge of English, French and Kinyarwanda.
