The International WaterCentre (IWC) is offering several scholarships for high
caliber candidates who want to study the IWC Master of Integrated Water
Management (MIWM) commencing in Semester 1, 2018. These prestigious
scholarships will be awarded on merit to candidates who clearly demonstrate
potential as future water leaders.
Applicants must have
completed an undergraduate degree in a related field of study from an
internationally-recognised institution. Intern
ational candidates must also
demonstrate English Language Proficiency (see UQ’s Policy, including minimum
scores for IELTS, TOEFL or PTE). A proof of English language proficiency needs
to be uploaded with the online application form.

Number of
Awards: The
International WaterCentre (IWC) offers up to three scholarships for
international candidates for full-time study of the MIWM program starting in
Semester 1, 2018. These include:
- Up to
two full tuition and full living costs scholarships (Type A) for future
water leaders from priority countries in Asia-Pacific, Latin America,
Africa and the Middle-East (see details in table below). One of these
scholarships will be reserved and awarded to a female candidate. - One
full tuition scholarship (Type B) for a future water leader from selected
countries in North America, Europe or Asia

A Scholarships – Full tuition and full living costs scholarships-
Value: Each scholarship is valued at
AU$92,645 and will cover:
- Full
tuition fees for full-time study of the IWC Master of Integrated Water
Management program commencing in 2018 (up to AU$52,500 for 18 months of
study) - Living
expenses stipend (valued at AU$36,000 for 16 months) payable in equal
monthly installments - Return
air travel to Australia (pre-approved, economy class airfare to and from
Brisbane, via the most direct route up to a maximum of AU$2,500) - University
Student Amenities Fee (valued at AU$145) - Cost of
Student Visa for a single student (valued at AU$550) - Cost of
the Overseas Student Health Cover for a single student (valued at AU$950
for 18 months)

citizenship and currently live in one of the priority countries in the
Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.

Scholarship –
Full tuition scholarship
Value: This scholarship is valued at
approximately AU$52,500 and will cover:
- Full
tuition fees for full-time study of the IWC Master of Integrated Water
Management program commencing in 2017 (valued at AU$52,500 for 18 months
of study)
Targeted
to: International
candidates who meet the minimum eligibility requirements (see below), hold
citizenship and currently live in North America, Europe or Asia.
Scholarship
can be taken in
Australia
Eligibility: To apply for a scholarship,
you must:
- Have
completed an undergraduate degree in a related field of study from an
internationally-recognised institution; - Have at
least two years of professional experience (paid work or volunteering
experience) relevant to the program;
professional experience is not essential for admission in the MIWM program,
candidates with relevant professional experience have a higher chance of
securing a scholarship – see Selection Criteria below.
- International
candidates must also demonstrate English Language Proficiency (see UQ’s
Policy, including minimum scores for IELTS, TOEFL or PTE). A proof of
English language proficiency needs to be uploaded with the online
application form.

Step 2: Scholarship
Assessment Process
preliminary assessment of each application received. Each application must meet
the minimum eligibility requirements. In early August, applications will be
divided into two groups:
- Group
1: shortlisted applications which will be invited to proceed to the next
stage; and - Group
2: non-eligible and/or non-competitive applications (unsuccessful).

admission into the MIWM program at UQ.
Step 3: Submit an

applicants will need to apply for admission in the program through The
University of Queensland.

academic year.
