Summary
The
Street Lighting Design and Technical Officer will be responsible for supporting
the Ironbark team working with council clients through the process of
developing public lighting designs. The role will involve close liaison with
Ironbark staff and potentially other public lighting stakeholders.

The
successful candidate should be experienced in AS/NZS 1158 (or similar) and
preferably be able to use the PerfectLite

lighting tables, isolux plots and preliminary lighting designs to be added into
final AutoCAD designs.
The
Technical Officer component will incorporate assessing street lights and the
facilitation of the Public Lighting Approvals Network (PLAN), which involves
liaison with approval authorities and street light suppliers, technical
assessment of street lights and fulfilling the requirements of Ironbark’s NATA
accreditation as an Inspection Body.

- Produce
lighting spacing tables, isolux plots and preliminary lighting designs in
Perfect Lite. - Create
CAD based lighting and electrical designs - Use
GIS software and a general set of assumptions, to assess whether a street
lighting scheme is compliant with the requirements of AS/NZS 1158
Measure
- Carry
out tasks using Perfect Lite design software with little oversight from
managers in a timely manner. - Develop
high quality CAD based lighting and electrical designs in a timely manner; - Communicate,
both formally (reports, emails and phone calls to clients) and informally
(verbally to colleagues), the outcomes of compliance assessment of
lighting schemes in the context of AS/NZS 1158. - Communicate
at both a technical and layperson’s level depending on the technical
knowledge of the client or colleague
