JOB POSTING – MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH
The Infectious Diseases Institute is engaged in working with the MoH and several districts in Uganda in strengthening health systems for improved delivery of HIV/AIDS and TB services. As an extension of this work IDI and its partners are considering using the same approach to strengthen Maternal and Child Health services in two rural districts in Western Uganda. We are therefore looking for experienced, committed, and hardworking individuals prepared to work for a fixed one year contract in health center III, Health center IV and District hospitals under the guidance of the District Health team. It is anticipated that the contracts will be from November 2011 to October 2012. We are looking for the following positions:
HIV Trainer (1)
The person in this position will be accountable for developing educational materials for MCH and EMOC, and teach appropriate aspects of health education to patients and their caregivers
Responsibilities:
• Teach appropriate aspects of health education to patients and their care givers
• Disseminate and interpret to the patients/care givers timely information on health status, health prevention, health maintenance all health care
• Exchange information with the various needs of the community.
• Arrange for resource personnel as necessary
Job requirement
Essential requirements:
• A degree in Social Sciences, Social Work and Social Administration, Community Education and Psychology
• Post graduate training in public health
• Training in MCH, RH and HIV/AIDS is essential
• Knowledge in adult education
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Strong organizational skills
