The Internship and
Student Services Coordinator oversees the organization and development of the
internship program while assisting with the student services functions of the
IES Abroad Sydney Center.
Through his/her
involvement in internship preparation, orientation, CORE, extracurricular and
field study/field trip-related programming, he/she supports the personal and
intercultural development of IES Abroad students. Specific job duties include:

Internship Coordination
– Including advising and supporting students, seeking placements and
maintaining relationships with Sydney based Internship hosts.

Arrival, Orientation & Student Support
3.
Extracurricular Programming
4.
Student Health & Safety
5.
General Administration
6.
Travel
– Participate in some
field trips when needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree
Knowledge and Experience
- Previous
office experience - Excellent
interpersonal, written and communication skills - Excellent
administrative and problem-solving abilities - Commitment
to international education, intercultural issues, and a dedication to
fostering student learning and intercultural competence - Student-centred
philosophy and sensitivity to issues of diversity - Ability
to travel to other regions of Australia on occasion. - Flexibility
in terms of working hours. Weekend and evening work is sometimes required.
Position is offered on an annualised basis, where the bulk of the work
will be within the Australian Autumn and Winter, however employment and
payment will be distributed throughout the year. - Experience
working with university students - Knowledge
of the tertiary education system - A high
level of proficiency in computer software particularly Microsoft Word and
Excel - Strong
time management skills, organisational skills and attention to detail
