Job Description
Based in Tamale the Programme Director has responsibility for leading on all education issues IBIS with responsibility for developing leading and directing a team of Education Facilitators and other staff. The Director is expected to maximise the impact of IBIS strategies and policies through work in close collaboration with partners organistions & engaging critical stake holders in programmes. This is a leadership and the programmes Director will be part of the Senior Management Team within IBIS and perform the following responsibilities;
• Lead Strategic programme development & operations on education issues focusing on complementary approaches to girls’ education and quality education
• Influence education rights objective through collaboration with strategic stakeholders
• Promote greater governance and accountability in education
• Ongoing research ,analyss and advice on current education developments
• Leading and developing a team of professionals
• Lead in monitoring ,evaluating and reviews within the thematic programme and projects.
Required Skills or Experience
• Masters’ Degree or equivalent level of understanding and experience in the field of Education.
• At least 4 years experience of researching and advising on education (including alternative education) policy issues from a rights perspective
• Experienced at advocacy and advising policy -makers on socio -economic issues
• Experienced in participatory methodologies
• Senior Management experience preferably within the civil society context including financial management
• Sound experience of people management
• Experience in fundraising and donor negotiations
• Results focused and able to effectively influence policy- makers at the highest levels
