Design Engineer
Across Singapore
Responsibilities:
- Prepare design
consultancy agreement with clearly stated design scope, lists of
deliverables, schedules of deliverables & drawings issuance
& consequence of non delivery ( including damages), requisite
resources, meeting or coordination requirements, document ( drawings )
management & control.
- Selection of
design consultants
- Manage the
services of inhouse & external design teams’ services and their
deliverables in the most efficient, effective and professional manner
- Formulate
a system to manage and co-ordinate the output of the various design
teams or Consultants to ensure the design and drawings are efficient,
well co-ordinated and practical and thus reducing if not removing any
disruptive design conflicts.
- Ensure the
design and working drawings produced by various design teams or
Consultants are of the highest quality but yet cost efficient.
- Ensure all
deliverables of the design team or Consultants, especially the
production and issuance of the working drawings will be timely.
- For a a
multi-discipline and multi-packaged project, prepare and issue master
co-ordinated plan (s) and co-ordinated plans to all Consultants.
These plans are to ensure all drawings prepared by various Consultants
are well co-ordinated and properly referenced. These plans will
help to mitigate potential interfacing design conflicts;
- Assist &
facilitate the various designers / Consultants in co-ordinating and
resolving interface issues and interface design issues. This is
accomplished by organising and chairing weekly design co-ordination
meetings (DCM). The DCM is to be attended by various interfacing
Consultants.
- Establish
& implement an effective system of control of document and
data.
- Well versed
with relevant international design codes and standards
- Familiar with
relevant local/regional vendors/suppliers’ capability
Requirements:
- Candidate must
possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma,
Professional Degree, Engineering (Civil/Structural) or (Mechanical)
or (Electrical) or equivalent.
- Minimum 10
years of which as design engineer in an engineering consultant firm
- At least 3
years as design manager in a multi discipline large project
- Experience in
working in a fast track EPC project is an added advantage
- Applicants
must be willing to travel
- Excellent
spoken and written English
- Advance
knowledge in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and able to operate STAAD PRO
2006, ESTEEM, ORION & REVIT, MOSS and AutoCad
- An honest and
professional person
- Ability to
liase and communicate effectively with all levels of organisation
- Willing to
work overtime and travel as and when is necessary
