for a motivated intern for the role of Assistant Project Manager. Gain great
experience working with a small NGO in Malawi! We work with a local primary
school, nursery school, and clinic in the village of Lifuwu next to Lake of
Malawi.

help2kids is a young,
dynamic organization located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s largest city, which
is situated on the Indian Ocean and in Lifuwu on Lake Malawi in Malawi. We help
orphans by providing food, shelter, and lots of love at our children’s home. We
help the community by providing support to local primary and nursery schools.
We promote sustainable development and socially responsible tourism by feeding
the profits from our guest houses in back into our projects.
We are currently seeking an Assistant Project
Manager to help with various administrative tasks and with volunteer
coordination. In this role you will be responsible for marketing, volunteer
coordination, and other tasks. This is a great position for someone who is
passionate about children and interested in gaining experience in the field.

Tasks
  • Assist project manager with volunteer
    coordination and schedules, and be responsible for field trips and theme
    weeks
  • Work closely with the volunteers to ensure
    that they have meaningful, well-rounded volunteer experience
  • Assist with administrative tasks as requested
  • Post Facebook updates and write bi-monthly
    blog for our help2kids Malawi website/blog
  • Work closely with staff in Malawi to ensure
    goals are met and overall success of the project
  • Assist with guest house management tasks, as
    requested

Qualifications
Things we are looking for in the ideal candidate:
  • Fluency in English (Additional languages –
    German, and / or French – preferred)
  • Exceptional written and oral communication
    skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, outgoing &
    team building skills
  • Diversity awareness
  • Passion for children and youth
  • Self learning ability and adapting skills
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Work well with team of local staff, foreign
    staff and international volunteers
  • Be willing to live on-site at the Friendly
    Gecko Guesthouse in a dorm with other volunteers
  • Commit for at least 6 months
  • Integrity & Adaptability
  • Previous experience living in Africa preferred
  • Drivers’ license and willingness to drive
    organization’s car preferred
