Gumnut Gardens,Early Childhood Teacher – Room Leader

We have a great
opportunity for an enthusiastic ECT to join our welcoming, dedicated and
professional team in a small 46 place centre close to Centennial Park. We
provide a “home away from home” environment which fosters strong
community connections and regular “out the gate” experiences and play
and nature-based leaning for all children. We use Edukite to document our daily
experiences and individual and group learning.

We are an eco
friendly centre offering pa

ddock to plate and sustainably sourced food cooked
on site by a qualified chef. Two indigenous cultural educators ( one male and
one female) work across all rooms in collaboration with staff. We have a worm
farm and chickens which are cared for by the children in the Preschool room. We
are committed to regular, quality PD and above award conditions apply. Our
centre is open 8 – 5.30 and you may choose to work either five 8 hour days or
four 10 hour days with a 3 day weekend.
We are looking for someone for an immediate start and these criteria:
* an Australian B Ed or equivilant
* a genuine desire to work with young children
* an ability to work as part of a team
* excellent spoken and written communication
* understanding of EYLF ( including principles and practice)
* an authentic desire to take children on bi-weekly bush kindy experiences
* an appreciation for aesthetics
* experience or willingness to document children’s learning in an aesthetically
pleasing and meaningful way
* experience as room leader

DESIRABLE:
familiarity with the philosophies of Steiner, Reggio Emilia and Bush kindy
programmes.
