It’s not just your perception, it is heavily documented: the debt, un-
and underemployment, directionless drift and precarity that young
people face is very rea
l. Young people are frustrated, but
overwhelmingly not apathetic. We know that many young people are
excited, motivated and animated by the possibility of running their
own projects. So Groundswell is supporting and challenging
participants to do something different.
We envision a community of people working together to build a
regenerative, democratic economy and belonging to an authentic social
ecosystem that supports it.
Groundswell is an alternatives-to-business training community for
young people that offers personal development, business skills and the
networks and mentoring needed for new projects – such as social
enterprises, co-ops, or nonprofits- through three 2-3 month programs.
The Groundswell Community is recreating the economy by rethinking the

This new special program offers the personal development, relevant
theory, pertinent tools, ideation and community connection of
Groundswell’s 4 month foundations session in a condensed format to fit
your schedule. You will jump start your understanding of how to create
sustainable and ethical enterprises and projects in order to start
turning your idea into a real initiative in January 2015’s
