Review and redesign GMs WASH strategy in line with the Country Strategic Plan,
in consultation with CD/ACDP and GOAL’s Global WASH Advisor, Roll out WASH
strategy ensuring appropriate resource allocation and time management for the
successful achievement of programme objectives, Technical advice and sign off
of all WASH related hardware including sustainable water supply and sanitation
solutions, Design integrated, sustainable and complimentary software activities
with particular emphasis on Sanitation Marketing, Monitor and report on project
activities using GM’s project management and monitoring tools and structures,
Ensure effective implementation of GM’s programmatic approaches, To
support/lead the development of evidenced based promising practice for
knowledge management and business development, To contribute to lead on the
development of donor proposals and reports in conjunction with the appropriate
staff
To manage GOAL Malawi’s AWSH programmes ensuring quality, compliance with
donor, GOAL and national policies and achievement of results, To directly
manage the GOAL Malawi WASH team on all aspects of their work, ensuring that
all work is completed within the specified timeframe and to a high standard, To
identify the training needs of the WASH teams and in consultation with the
Human Resource Manager develop a programme to meet those needs, through on the
job training, internal training workshops and external training,
Technically advise, support and mentor both programmes and operations
staff as appropriate
Ensure finance protocols are followed by WASH programme staff, Liaise with the
Financial Controller to ensure continuous oversight and involvement at all
stages of the program cycle, Approve expenses and payments in line with
approval processes, Management of WASH programme budget
A minimum of 5 yrs experience managing a WASH programme with an International
NGO, Masters degree in WASH or equivalent, Experience in managing projects and
programme funded by major institutional donors and agencies such as DFID, UN
Agencies, Irish Aid, European Union and USAID, Strong demonstrable experience
in all aspects of project management including project planning,
implementation, monitoring and evaluation, financial management and the
design/utilisation of appropriate project management tools, and the capacity to
transfer this experience to others, Excellent interpersonal, motivational and
management skills with extensive experience mentoring staff
