Introduction
Global Communities has been operating in Rwanda since 2005, and strives to be a
catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low- and moderate-income
communities around the world, supporting them to improve their social, economic
and environmental conditions.
Global Communities implements four key programs in Rwanda in support of the
Government of Rwanda’s economic development and poverty reduction strategy
(EDPRS II), as well as the broader Vision 2020. As the organization has
launched several new initiatives and recruited new staff and partners, the team
has grown quickly over the past two years. Global Communities is thus seeking
an experienced firm to lead a team-building retreat which will support personal
and professional development of its staff, and further collaboration and
connections across programs.
Consultancy Deliverables
The consultants/firm will lead a 2-day retreat that will inspire and engage a
wide range of staff, approximately 65 participants. The retreat should be
creatively organized to include strategic brainstorming sessions aimed at
helping the staff to continue to support continuous improvements in individual,
team, and organizational performance.
Key outputs include:
• Developed a detailed agenda for the retreat which includes a range of
team-building, appreciative inquiry, and motivational activities.
• Meeting with senior staff to refine the agenda prior to the retreat.
• Facilitating the 2-day team-building retreat.
• Preparing a report summarizing the approach, and participatory tools utilized
during the 2-day retreat, with recommendations for further personal and
professional development of the staff.
Duration of the Assignment
6 days: three days for planning and developing the teambuilding sessions and
content; 2 days for facilitating the retreat; and 1 day for report
preparation.
Desired qualifications
• University degree in education in management, leadership;
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience;
• Proven track record of facilitating team building and knowledge sharing
workshops and consultancy experience.
• Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English.
