Global Communities Cleaner Job Vacancy in Kigali, Rwanda

Global Communities is seeking for a Cleaner who will support in daily office
cleaning.

Position title: Cleaner
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Cleaner/Janitor will work within the
Administration department and provides office cleaning for Global Communities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

In particular, s/he will be responsible for:

  • Maintain and keep a tidy office; includes
    sweeping the floor, dusting and cleaning desks/office equipment, and
    emptying waste paper baskets/garbage bins.
  • Prepare tea for visitors when requested.
  • Keep clean cutlery/crockery and neat pantry.
  • Ensure lunch area is kept clean.
  • Ensure restrooms are kept clean and stocked
    with toilet papers, clean hand towels and soap.
  • Collect and arrange re-cycle paper for re-use.
  • Collect old newspapers.
  • Deliver documents/mail to departments as
    requested
  • Assist the GSM in developing and implementing
    cleanliness of the office building, equipment and furniture
  • Assist in unloading incoming supplies, office
    and household furniture and equipment, assist in moving supplies to proper
    storage areas using hand trucks and other material handling equipment
  • Assist with any other duties as required by
    Supervisor. Given the nature of the work, staff is expected to be flexible
    and may be asked to carry out duties which are not specifically listed
    above. The job description may be revised after discussion between the
    staff member and the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to work in a multicultural context as
    a flexible and respectful team player.
  • Demonstrated customer service and reception
    skills.
  • Demonstrated computer and typing skills; Excel
    and WinWord skills are essential.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Post secondary education and training and at
    least two years of work experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluency in verbal English and Kinyarwanda; French
would be an asset.
