Description:
The successful candidate will report to the Database Manager, Exploration Manager Assist and will support geology (mine, development, or exploration) team by creating geographic layers to cover different attributes including but not restricted to database management.
* Manage Newmont Ahafo and Regional database including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data repository administration
* Maintain Newmont geologic database and GIS standards as well as exploration/geology data repository
* Liaise and work closely with Regional and Near Mine Exploration group and maintain the integrity of critical Near Mine and Regional Exploration datasets including drill hole and sample databases
* Assist in preparation of technical reports such as monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Computer drafting, graph/charts and Power-point presentation activities may be required
* Interact effectively with all other Company groups or teams to support company needs, in a timely manner with flexibility, using best practices
Qualifications:
* A degree in Information Systems and 3 years or Dip with 5 years’ experience in GIS or database management
* Applicable experience with Access, SQL Server, or other data management system
* Knowledge of statistics is a plus and must have a good interpersonal relationship
Education Level: Bachelors Degree
