Me to We seeks an Associate Director of Youth
Engagement
. This individual will work with the Director to develop
strategy, oversee the implementation of strategy, and be responsible for operations
of the department, ultimately accountable to achieving sales targets for
International Trips and Take Action Camp. As a natural leader, this role
manages a team of high performing individuals and reports directly to the
Director of Youth Engagement.
The success of the Me to We Youth Engagement Team is
measured (at both the departmental and organizational level) by the number of
youth engaged and retained in Me to We Experiences, reduced cancellations, and
ultimately achieving year end targets. The Me to We Youth Engagement Team seeks
a strong leader who will continually strengthen these objectives while
maintaining a focus on team development.
There is a three (3) month probationary period, upon
reaching the three (3) month period, all staff members are offered a health
plan including dental and Employee Assistant Program. Salary is to be
negotiated. The position is based out of Me to We’s office in Toronto (225

Responsibilities:
  • Motivate, educate and lead a team of high
    performing individuals. This currently includes two managers and thirteen
    coordinators
  • Share vision and drive activities to reach
    department and organizational goals
  • Troubleshoots challenges and escalates issues to
    department Director, when needed
  • Proactively manages changes in strategy,
    identifies potential crises, devises contingency plans and communicates
    these to the management team
  • Clearly and effectively delegates to managers and
    coordinators
  • Monitors progress, milestones and priorities; tracks
    action items; identifies process improvements
  • Sets and continually manages expectations with
    team members and other stakeholders
  • Acts as a member of the senior-management team
    within the Youth Engagement department, as well as within the broader organization
    as a whole. Upholds highest level of professionalism
  • Continuously liaises with other department
    Associate Directors and Directors to ensure alignment with organizational
    objectives
  • Find personal satisfaction in activities and
    responsibilities available in the job; enjoying the essence of sales work,
    embracing and cultivating the Me to We culture
Team Management: 50%
  • Hosts regular check-ins with Managers and
    Coordinators to provide on-going support and help problem solve
    challenges. Determine when issues need to be escalated to Director of
    Youth Engagement
  • Ensures coordinators are seeking the highest
    level of quality and accuracy of work (especially as this relates to youth
    interaction, financials and external documents)
  • Coaches and motivates team members, and
    influences them to take positive action and accountability for their
    assigned work
  • Provides direction, leadership, and coordination
    for a wide-range of projects
  • Develops internal department specific training
    program
  • Leads departmental human resources functions such
    as hiring (diligently vetting all candidates to ensure both cultural and
    skill alignment), evaluation, coaching/mentorship, professional
    development opportunities and difficult conversations with team members
    (where needed)
  • Continuously liaises with other departments in
    order to move departmental deliverables forward, specifically with the
    Trip Operations team, Travel team, Accounting team, and Quality &
    Development team
  • Lead check-ins with Managers at the beginning of
    the week to review previous week performance, set goals, client targets,
    and action items for the week
  • Set the agenda with the Director for team meeting
    and co-lead meeting
  • Focus on training opportunities for manager,
    coordinators and part-time staffers – devote time to ensuring team is
    updated with organization’s priorities and new products
  • Develop staff retreats 3 times/year to align
    focus and priorities
  • Provide insight on staff performance,
    participates with Director on evaluations and send recommendations and
    reports on performance and milestones to Director
  • Ensure positive team culture is cultivated
    regularly
Operations and Reporting: 25%
  • Develop, implement and monitor all processes,
    quality and internal controls necessary to achieve sales targets
  • Create and hold team accountable to SOPs to
    ensure excellent customer service standards
  • Researches and establishes new systems and/or
    processes to create efficiency and quality in the department.
  • Act as an escalation point for client issue
    resolution
  • Report progress and issues on the above to
    Director
  • Create and analyze sales reports to be able to
    recommend top selling products to the marketing team and influence the
    next design/ production cycle
  • Work closely with the marketing team to
    understand the marketing plans
  • Supervise the strategy for We Day
  • Drives research to better understand the
    customer, applies learnings & shares with relevant teams
  • Implements knowledge and research on customer to
    get actionable results
  • Responsible for the requirements and approach for
    key customer-facing programs , including new customer acquisition and
    retention
Financial Monitoring & Analysis: 25%
  • Oversees all accounts receivable processes.
    Ensures systems are built to capture data for analysis and that all
    accounting needs are met
  • Develops procedures to ensure quality of
    financial tracking
  • Reports on a weekly basis the current status of
    financials for the department
  • Ensures we meet TICO guidelines at all times
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor degree or
    Master’s degree in a related field
  • Proven ability to problem solve and multi-task
    during high-stress situations
  • Sound judgment, decision-making and analytical
    skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills,
    highly organized, and demonstrated professionalism
  • Previous experience with sales and customer
    service
  • International travel experience an asset
  • Calm and confident demeanor, strong ability to
    develop rapport with both youth and adults over phone and email
  • Personal values that match Me to We and FTC core
    values
  • Experience working with basic word processing
    (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel) and CRM systems (Salesforce)
  • Has valid driver’s license
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
