Field Good and Farm with Us!
We are offering TWO FARMING INTERNSHIPS on our 10 acre organically
operated farm. At Field Good Farms/ La ferme j’me champ bien we have a
100-member CSA program
, a booth at the North Bay Farmers’ Market, and
we also provide food to Eat Local Sudbury, their multi-farmer CSA
program, and local restaurants. Our goal is to grow the healthiest
most delicious food and to do so while caring for the environment. We
wish to provide you with insight, knowledge and experience that will
help you to go on to pursue your own farming dreams.
The ADVANCED internship includes:
• Accommodations in a shared apartment (basement of aunt’s house,
located on the corner of the farm property)
• A stipend of $750/month, for a period of six months (from May to October)
• Lunch during work days and access to the farms’ produce* and three
whole, frozen chickens
• Weekly ‘’walk-arounds’’ of the farm, ripe full with teachable
moments and updates on the progression of the growing season
• Access to our library of market gardening books
• We are open to other self-motivated opportunities on the farm
Qualifications:
• Studied in the field of agriculture, and looking to add practical to
the theoretical knowledge acquired in class. We will also look kindly
upon anyone with a background in the environmental sector, the
culinary sector, wellness and nutrition.
• Experience with produce sales is an asset, ideally at a farmers’ market
• Knowledge of the current food sector
• Physically prepared for hard work and repetitive tasks
• Available for a 6 month period, working 5 days a week
• Decision-making and problem-solving skills
• A good sense of humour and ability to stay positive
• Valid driver’s license is an asset
• A working knowledge of conversational French is an asset but not necessary
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Must own or be willing to purchase steel toe boots, two pairs of
rubber boots, a rain suit, work gloves, and a hat.
* The advanced intern is also expected to purchase his/her own
groceries. A vegetable share and lunch during workdays will be
provided (approx. $700 value).

The BEGINNER internship includes:
• Accommodations (if necessary, shared with advanced intern)
• A stipend of $500/month, for a period of five or six months (May to
September or October)
• Lunch during work hours and access to our produce* and two whole,
frozen chickens
• Weekly ‘’walk-arounds’’ on the farm, ripe full with teachable
moments and updates on the progression of the growing season
Qualifications:
• Experience with home gardening, and a keen interest in food security
issues or a background in the environmental sector, the culinary
sector, wellness and nutrition.
• Physically prepared for hard work and repetitive tasks
• Available for a 5 or 6 month period, working 5 days a week,
• Open to learn about organic/sustainable farming
• A good sense of humour
• A valid G class driver’s license is an asset
• A positive attitude, no matter what the weather brings
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• Must own or be willing to purchase steel toe boots, two pairs of
rubber boots, a rain suit, work gloves, and a hat
* The beginner intern is also expected to purchase his/her own
groceries. A vegetable share and lunch during workdays will be
provided (approx. $700 value).
