Fiddlehead Farm Market Garden Field Staff Job Vacancy in Ontario, Canada

Fiddlehead Farm is an eight acre organic market garden based on a 128 acre
property in the north east corner of Prince Edward County, Ontario. We are in
our sixth year of operation producing a wide selection of organically grown produce
for distribution into the County, Belleville, and Toronto. We run a dynamic
operation selling through farmers’ markets, wholesale customers, and a summer
and winter CSA.

We are seeking staff to work with us in the garden as part of our six person
team. As a staff member you will be involved in all parts of the garden. This
means working in greenhouse propagation, transplanting, seeding, cultivation,
and harvest. We use a combination of small tractor and hand powered implements
on our farm. This is a great opportunity for someone who has some farm
experience and is ready to build upon and improve their skill set.

Desired Skill Set:
• one or more years market gardening experience
• able to work in a physically demanding environment in all weather conditions
• attention to detail
• strong teamwork skills, respectful when dealing with others
• ability to move quickly while maintaining quality
• strong communication skills
• customer service/farmers’ market experience
• CSA experience
• greenhouse experience

Field staff work a set 40 hour work week. Longer days may be required during
peak harvest periods. A room in our 1840s farm house is available for rent at
$400/monthly if desired.
