We are looking for a happy hard working person to help around the farm doing WHATEVER needs to be done which may include: tractor driving, tree planting, weeding, harvesting fruit, chasing the cows.
Our helper will also come to the Farmers Market with us during July August and September on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
You need to have a clean, valid drivers license and experience operating equipment such as a tractor or chain saw. Some mechanical skills would also be an advantage. There is physical work involving lifting, packing, loading, market setup … so you must be physically fit and enjoy working with your body.
Remuneration – while there will be lots of opportunity to learn about organic growing, farm planning and organization, marketing and sales, this is also a paid position. Above minimum wage depending on what you bring to the job.
Shared accommodation is possible.
Time Frame – start asap and STAY until at least the end of September. This is not suitable for a student returning to school in September as we will invest in training now with a view to our helper being able to independently run one of our market sites right through till our season ends which is usually the first or second week in October.
