Job Summary
Under the direction
of the CEO, the Electrical Engineer will lead the design of Solar PV
systems. You will be responsible for preparing electrical plans,
developing material specifications, preparing project budgets, and assisting
with procurement, expediting and labour planning. Having previous
industrial project experience, your skills and abilities will lead to
successful completion of projects on time and on budget. You may be required to
perform other necessary work in order to facilitate work schedules, meet
timelines and aid in efficiency. You will be an ambassador for Evergreen
Power within the Solar Industry in Ontario.
Duties and
Responsibilities
Prepare
detailed electrical layout drawings in CAD
- Prepare
detailed material schedules - Build
power production models in PVSyst and RETScreen - Interact
with Clients’ engineering teams and EPL’s Material Suppliers - Prepare
system designs according to ESA and CEC requirements - Materials
Procurement for projects in cooperation with the Construction Manager - Maintain
Job Cost reports on an ongoing basis to ensure that Project Budget goals
are met
Job Skills and
Qualifications:
- 2-5
years experience in commercial scale PV construction - Familiar
with the OEC/CEC as related to PV construction - Eligible
to work in Canada - Proven
skills in effective management of people and resources. - Licensed
Electrical Engineer (EIT registration is sufficient) - Strong
short, mid-term planning skills. Proven organizational ability in a
challenging and frequently changing job environment - Excellent
computer skills, including Excel, AutoCAD, PVSyst, RETScreen - Desire
and proven ability to work with field staff to maintain high expectations
of performance, quality, efficiency and profitability of projects - Ability
to retain communication/project details and manage concurrent priorities
of multiple projects. - Communicate
and monitor cost control requirements with external parties such as
vendor/suppliers, contractors and consultants - Able to
coordinate multiple work schedules - Superior
customer relations and interpersonal communication skills. - Excellent
problem solving skills, ability to apply judgement. - Includes
ability to proactively and consistently follow-up with every facet of
problem resolution based communication, via email or telephone. - Knowledge
of Solar Industry in Ontario - Familiar
with the FIT Program - Can
arrange personal transportation to and from the office
