Overview: Individual will coordinate the lunch program for the Green
City Adventure Camp, including running the outdoor bread oven, the
weekly pizza food program, as well as maintaining full safety
standards of the kitchens. Individual will also be responsible for
supervising and coordinating extended care program at end of day.
Key Responsibilities:
Participant Safety
• Adhere to safe food handling policies;
• Communicating safety and health regulations to program participants
and ensure they understand them;
• Ensuring proper communication via two way radio;
• Responsibility for basic first aid as required;
• Monitor program areas and equipment;
• Identify, document and share your concerns with your supervisor;
• Manage safety guidelines in Extended Care program.
Program Delivery, Leadership and Guidance
• Coordinate the Lunch Program with Café BeLong during camp;
• Leads set-up/re-set of food preparation areas;
• Cleans all equipment and dishes from the program;
• Organizing, prepping, cooking, and cleaning up for food related events;
• Welcome and engage campers and camp staff
• Maintaining kitchens and Chimney Court Bread Oven
• Provide guidance and support to the individual needs of each
participant in your care;
• Guide and support Volunteers in food related programming;
• Incorporates garden and greenhouse elements into program;
• Assists camp leaders with food programming after lunch;
• Creates and manages processes in Extended Care;
• Communicates with parents and campers upon pick-up;
• Creates fun and safe Extended Care environment including structured
programming and free play;
• Creates weekly food program stations for campers.
Program Planning and Pre-Camp Training
• Participate in pre-camp training week in June, read and understand
the Staff Handbook;
• Working with Camp Director and Program Director to infuse food
programming throughout camp;
• Participate in regular debrief with the camp staff team.
Teamwork
• Steps in as Camp Counsellor on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of previous work/volunteer food programming experience
• Certification in Food Handlers
• First-aid/CPR
• Police Record Check
Working conditions:
• Working outdoors in inclement weather
• Working with vulnerable populations
• Working hours: M-F, 10-6pm. (June 29th-Aug 28th – 9 weeks)
• Mandatory training in June
Physical requirements:
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Some heavy lifting
• Working in hot temperatures
Terms of contract:
• Mandatory unpaid Pre-Camp Trainingand Planning– June 20th, 23rd,
24th, 25th. (Completion bonus will be provided upon contract
completion)
• Camp Program Delivery – Monday to Friday from June 29th to August 28th 2015.
Must be legally able to work in Canada
