Responsible and accountable for
the Operation and Maintenance of the Power Plants owned by the Electric
Utility, directing
the generation programming and
dispatching to comply with daily forecasts, and overseeing maintenance of
Electricity plants, lines and grids under Utility

Network development

Responsible for the Development of Thermal and HPPs, Transmission and
Distribution facilities for all
voltage levels (HV, MV and LV).

Achieve the needs of new connections applications and power increase required
by the commercial
department.
3
Maintain environmentally sustainable development of power plants and associated
networks.
4
Monitor the implementation of safety procedures through the safety section
under his/her jurisdiction
Operations and
Maintenance
5
Responsible and accountable for the operation and maintenance of the power
plants (HPP, sub
stations, T&D Services
facilities) owned by the Electric Utility.

Establish and maintain a functional fuel and other critical material supplies
for all utility facilities by
maintaining a store, procurement
department and supply links of essential items to the utility.

Manage an efficient protection department with modern techniques of
troubleshooting, fault locaters,
protection and other devices
minimising plant outages

Annually prepare, operate and periodically review a maintenance schedule to
ensure reliability of
network facilities
9 Maintain and install the
customer’s metering devices, ensuring that the measurements are done to
standard/ requirement (agreements).
Dispatch and Network
control
10 Execute economic dispatch of
all plant in compliance with regulatory standards, customer needs and the
market as a whole (tariff differentiation)
11 Optimise the operation of
power plant production while maximising business results.
12 Direct the generation
programming and dispatching to comply with daily demand forecasts Operations planning
13 Optimise network configuration
with regard to quality, efficiency and cost
14 Plan and develop the grid to
ensure that the generation, transmission and distribution systems can absorb
the demand as forecasted from time to time.
Resource management
15 Coordinate, with the Human
Resources unit, the implementation of policies, plans and people management
processes, and ensure the development of the employee protective equipment
16 Manage budgets and costs of
all the activities which he/she is accountable.
17 Coordinate procurement of
logistics, goods and services with corresponding units
18 Report periodically monthly,
quarterly and annually) on the performance of the Directorate (budgets Vs
actual targets)
Quality Assurance
19 Direct the management of all
the processes under its responsibility through the establishment of standards,
procedures and work processes. He/she has to ensure that the development of the
Network Automation and the implementation of Management Information Systems are
adapted to the needs of the processes
20 Manage quality demand supply
through well-established utility standards (standard voltage limits, frequency,
power factor, etc.)
21 Implement regulatory rules
minimising the impact of the company as well as making suggestions to improve
its operations
22 Set, in coordination with the
appropriate units under the Energy Development Company, the standardization of
materials, equipment and facilities ensuring that they meet the highest
standards of quality and efficiency.
23 Provide leadership to the
department staff and supervise and manage their performance and development in
line with the Organization’s goals, objectives, policies and regulations.
24 Develop a departmental annual
work plan and financial budget and monitor their implementation in line with
the Business plan
