Full job description
Educat seeks Training Coordinator, Rwanda (volunteer/internship)
Do you want to write a new chapter with us in international development? We are looking for a competent training coordinator to our team in Kigali, Rwanda to manage the implementation of our short term training programs. You will be part of a small and dynamic organisation offering different training and support activities to Rwandan entrepreneurs and businesses.
About Educat:
Educat seeks to foster entrepreneurial skills, attitudes and opportunities. We believe positive change starts at the level of the individual. We believe that change-makers exist at all levels of society. And we believe that with the right training and education we can unleash the full potential of Rwanda’s existing and future entrepreneurs and leaders. That is what we are working for in Rwanda.
Educat is a young, social enterprise with roots in Denmark but working in Rwanda since 2009. Our goal in Rwanda is to establish an institute for higher learning with focus on leadership, entrepreneurship and social innovation: the Rwandan Entrepreneurs and Leaders (REAL) Institute. For now our core business is training and support of Rwandan entrepreneurs and businesses – ranging from micro-business to larger corporations. Profit is not our goal, financial sustainability and independence from donors are.
About the job/internship:
The Training Coordinator will work closely together with the Program Manager and our local trainers to solve the following tasks:
– Plan, coordinate and organize the implementation of Educat’s training programs – both on a practical day-to-day basis as well as considering the programs more strategically;
– Recruit participants and organisations to Educat’s different trainings;
– Development of new and existing training programs – including tailor made programs for local clients;
– Coordinate and organize the work of Educat’s so-called International Faculty – a network of international consultants delivering services in organizational development.
In addition to these specific tasks Educat strongly believes in broad involvement of all staff in both the development and implementation of our different activities – also in concrete training situations. We always encourage new ideas, experiments and team work across all organizational areas.
What do we expect from you?
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and competencies:
– Strong coordination and project management skills;
– Theoretical knowledge and preferably practical experience with organisational development, entrepreneurship and/or leadership training;
– Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously and always see the greater picture;
– A team player who can easily adapt to a different cultural context.
We also expect you to be ambitious on behalf of Educat, your own learning and achievements; to be curious and critical in your work; to thrive in changing environments (things will change, we promise); to be innovative and question existing procedures; and to be proactive in looking for new opportunities. In short we expect you to take leadership and be entrepreneurial.
What can you expect from us?
As an intern at Educat you will experience great responsibility, big challenges and lots of learning possibilities. You will know and experience personally that the work you do will make a difference. Educat pays special attention to your personal development, and during your internship, you will receive individual coaching.
Educat provides a small allowance which can be sufficient to cover basic housing, phone and transport to work. Educat can assist you in finding housing. However, you will pay for your travel expenses incl. entry visa as well as other living costs. The duration of the two contracts are preferably from August 1st 2011 – February 1st 2012 incl. 1 month of vacation.
