description
EcoSmart – a
Vancouver based not-for-profit organization – is seeking to fill various roles
to support the development of solar energy projects. Applicants able to
undertake multiple roles are especially encouraged. Our aim is to cover all
roles within the team but the assignment of
specific tasks to individuals is
flexible and will be based on the skill set of the selected candidate(s).
Roles sought:
- Technical
specialist. The role requires developing system simulations to help
decision makers assess the technical and financial feasibility of PV
projects. Specific duties may include: conducting simulations using
appropriate software (eg. Mathematica, PVsys, etc.); creating and
maintaining solar databases; calculating wind and snow loads; analyzing
quality and efficiency of equipment (modules, inverters, etc.); analyzing
all aspects of a solar plant (foundation, layout, structure, etc.);
understanding and communicating data gaps and limitations; preparing
reports or presentations; etc.
- Business
development. The role entails finding new opportunities for the
organization and may include: identifying new domains of work; creating
project concepts; exploring, developing, and nurturing relationships and
partnerships with prospective funders, investors, developers, and other
stakeholders; creating initial proposals, budgets, and financial
documents; conducting high-level business meetings; attending conferences;
delivering presentations; etc.
- Project
administration & communication. This role largely covers the
administrative and communication aspects of projects, including: preparing
financial documents; creating reports; liaising with project partners,
stakeholders, and contractors; handling marketing and outreach; updating
websites; developing communications materials; delivering presentations;
participating in social media dialogs; etc.
All work is based in
Vancouver, BC, Canada.
Interested
applicants should emphasize all experience related to any of the above roles,
regardless of primary area of expertise. Candidates with interest and ability
to undertake multiple roles will be prioritized. All candidates should have
some renewable energy experience; we are especially interested in candidates
with solar system modeling experience.
