The South Downs is England’s newest National Park, spanning an area from Winchester to Eastbourne and boasting some truly iconic scenery. The South Downs National Park Authority has been created to protect its swathes of woodland, heathland and chalk grassland, and to support the communities that live and work there.
We became fully operational this month and are now seeking to recruit a high calibre Director to join our executive leadership team and help us drive our ambitions forward.
As Director of Corporate Services, you will provide overall leadership and direction to a broad span of support services including Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Procurement, Health and Safety and Facilities Management. You will embed effective business planning and performance management across the organisation, undertake the ‘Section 151’ statutory duties and ensure effective governance and member’s services are in place.
You will have significant senior management experience of both in-house and outsourced services (many of our services are provided for us by partner local authorities), and a proven track record in strategic corporate leadership. As well as exceptional communication skills, you will be politically astute and have the gravitas and acumen to strengthen our organisation, working in partnership to conserve and enhance this wonderful new National Park.
