Digital Opportunity Trust (DOT) is seeking to hire an Information
and Communications Technology (ICT) Officer
to manage DOT’s information and
communications systems, including all enhancements, technical assistance, and
user training on DOT’s global network.
Reporting to the Manag

er of Communications and
Technology, the ICT Officer will be responsible for the organization’s
technical infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be a personable,
customer-service oriented creative problem solver who is able to quickly adapt
to new technologies and possesses a broad technical skill-set.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of
DOT’s office in Ottawa.
Key responsibilities
  • Manage, support, and troubleshoot ICT services
    within global organization (intranet, content management systems, learning
    management systems, project management systems, email)
  • Consult on the integration of technology into
    programs and projects
  • Assist with technology development operations
  • Manage software and hardware inventory
  • Manage relationships with service vendors
  • Oversee the security of all ICT systems
  • Monitor ICT system use to ensure adherence to
    organizational policies
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware issues
  • Assist users with account management
  • Act as the first point of contact for all user
    support issues
  • Maintain virtual support center for global
    organization
Qualifications
Essential
  • 2-5 years of experience supporting technology
    integration in a non-profit, agency, or business environment
  • College or university degree in Management
    Information Systems or similar
  • Development operations experience
  • Some experience with web development, applications,
    and programming (including DNS, APIs, HTML/5, CSS/3, SSO, PHP)
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services or server
    administration
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal
    communications skills
  • Excellent ability to organize and prioritize
    tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Familiar with multiple operating systems (Linux,
    Unix, Windows, Mac OS)
  • Thrives in a small, fast-paced startup
    environment
  • Sensitive to and respectful of cultural differences
Desirable
  • Familiarity with online learning management
    systems (Moodle)
  • Experience with unified communications
  • Project management experience
