Diagnosis of tuberculosis

(2003) stated that the diagnosis studies of tuberculosis include:
·        
Tuberculosis skin test (mantoux test).
·        
Bacteriological studies (sputum smear)
·        
White blood cell

The
Federal Ministry of Health (2007), stated ways by which tuberculosis could be
diagnosed.
·        
Skin sensitivity
·        
Sputum for acute fast bacilli (on three consecutive early morning
sputum).
Another
procedure was pointed by Maryn (2007) include the following procedures:
·        
History and symptom of the patient.
·        
Result of dust examination
·        
Presence of tuberculosis bacilli in the sputum
·        
Tuberculin test which include
§  Petch test
§  Heat test
§  Maxtox test
