Dental Health without Borders (TUG) – Nurse, BPOC Project coordinator Job Vacancy in Rwanda

Dental Health without Borders (TUG), is a NON-Governmental Organization, implementing School based dental health programs and offering emergency dental treatment in Rwanda, in cooperation with SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda. The project is financed by DANIDA.

The project is a school based project in Basic Program of Oral Care, and includes education and supervision of oral health in 6 Primary schools in Nyamagabe district, the sector of Gasaka. We are seeking to hire a qualified, dedicated and experienced Nurse to fill a position. The nurse is responsible for the annual performances, quality and cost-effectiveness of the BPOC-project in Nyamagabe. The nurse will be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the project to SOS Children’s Villages Rwanda and TUG.

Main responsibilities
–         Dental Health education meetings for children, teachers, principals, parents and FSP network.
-Collecting baseline data and evaluation data
-Implement the BPOC project at project schools.
-Facilitate construction of toothbrush holders
-Supervise daily tooth brushing and hand washing at project schools
-Collecting attendance protocols
-Collecting school test results.
-Monitoring compliance among teachers and children.
-Writing month reports for SOS RW and TUG
-Facilitate broadcast on local radio in cooperation with SOS RW and TUG.
-Gather consent from parents in order to allow the children to take part in the program
Qualifications
-Nurse
-Mature person, trustworthy and relievable
-High command of the English language both oral and written is required
-Fluency in Kinyarwanda and French.
-Most be Computer literate
-Be able to produce evaluation reports on request
-Work experience, with school based and/or family based health promotion on a community level.
-Interested in oral health education
-The ideal candidate will be able to “learn by doing” in a fast pace. Good in planning an effective work schedule. He / She will be outcome oriented, able to manage multiple priorities at a time and keep the project moving forward with minimal day to day supervision. This highly professional individual will be comfortable speaking and working in a public setting.
